爱尔兰知名合唱团 西城男孩（ Westlife）日前在官网公布了最新单曲《Lighthouse （灯塔）》的封面，而这支单曲将收录在西城男孩下月21日发行的专辑精选集《Greatest Hits》据了解，这支单曲《Lighthouse》将计划在11月13日正式发布，由 英国《X Factor》的评委 Take That成员盖瑞·巴洛( Gary Barlow)和格莱美奖年度制作人John Shanks合力打造。而单曲的全新音乐录像带将移师 南非进行拍摄，对此，盖瑞·巴洛表示道：“这支单曲非常适合 西城男孩下月发行的精选集，可以说没有比这更适合的了。”

值得一提的是，《Lighthouse》将成为 西城男孩1999年推出的热播单曲《 Swear It Again》之后的第31首上榜单曲。截止目前为止， 西城男孩在 英国已经创造了1100万张专辑销量以及600万次的单曲下载量。此单曲 英国单曲榜排名第32位，是 西城男孩推出单曲最低的名次。这种低迷也象征着他们要解散的实情。

Westlife（西城男孩）是在1998年成立的 爱尔兰男子歌唱团体。 Westlife在 爱尔兰和 英国走红，在 非洲、 澳大利亚与亚洲也很受欢迎。1999年至2005年间，Westlife有13张单曲唱片在 英国高据首位；其数量排名历史第四位，仅次于 Elvis Presley、 披头士和Cliff Richard。 西城男孩也是 英国流行音乐史上唯一一支头七支单曲空降榜首的乐队。他们也是唯一一个在 英国拿过四次“最佳年度专辑”的组合。 西城男孩在世界范围内售出四千万张专辑，其中包括七张超白金专辑。2011年10月20日，成立14年的 爱尔兰流行组合 西城男孩在官网发布了解散声明。

著名流行组合“ 西城男孩”（Westlife）通过他们的官网发布声明，称他们即将在2012年告别乐坛。在2012年五月份， 西城男孩将在 英国地区连续举办九场告别演唱会。

在声明中， 西城男孩组合写到：“我们在一起合作了14年，有26首单曲入围排行榜前十名，其中有14首获得冠军，11张专辑进入排行榜前五名，其中7张获得冠军，全球唱片销量超过4400万张，举行过10次座无虚席的巡回演出，我们一起有过很多将会永远怀念的记忆。今天，我们要宣布我们分道扬镳的消息，今年圣诞节前我们会推出一张精选专辑，而在明年会举行一次告别的巡回演出。”

此外，他们还说：“暂别乐坛的决定是我们几个一致作出的，因为我们都觉得，现在的我们需要一次喘息的机会并打算寻求一些其他的尝试。尽管这是我们 成军后最为冒险的一次决定，但毕竟，在这几年我们也成长成为真正的男人，而我们希望这个决定能够得到乐迷的支持。我们将这张精选集和明年的告别巡演作为分手前最好的庆祝。我们非常希望在这次巡演中能够最后一次看到我们的乐迷们。”

早在2004年， 西城男孩组合的成员之一 布莱恩·麦克法登的单飞就一度使西城男孩的前景蒙上阴影，一度变成四人编制的“西城男孩”一直都面临着解散的传闻。最终， 西城男孩还是坚持到了2012年，成为欧美流行乐坛史上最长寿的男子组合之一。

据了解， 西城男孩这张精选集《 Greatest Hits》于2011年11月21日正式发行，其中收录了他们的14首经典单曲，首支单曲《Lighthouse》于2011年11月13日提前上市。而 西城男孩的告别巡演将于2012年5月14日从 纽卡斯尔的Metro Radio Arena拉开序幕，本次巡演一共有九场演出，最后一站定在了 苏格兰 格拉斯哥， 曼彻斯特。从今天开始， 西城男孩本次告别巡演的门票正式开始销售。
