早年经历
华裔女导演杰西卡·虞毕业于耶鲁大学，中文名为虞琳敏，父亲是上海人，母亲来自广东省；她的德国血统丈夫马克·萨尔兹曼（Mark Salzman）凭借《幽默的中国人》（Iron & Silk）一书而小有名气，马克毕业于耶鲁大学的中文和中国文学专业，曾任教于湖南中医学院并且随著名的武术指导潘清福学习过武术，目前夫妻二人同女儿Ava一起居住在洛衫机。杰西卡·虞曾执导过《美国梦》、《仁心仁术》、《白宫群英》以及《实习医生格蕾》等热门电视剧，1997年凭借短片《呼吸的代价》（Breathing Lessons: The Life and Work of Mark O'Brien）获得奥斯卡最佳纪录短片奖，其他记录片作品还包括描述美国画家达戈（Henry Darger）一生及其作品的《不真实的国度》（In the Realms of the Unreal）以及07年最新哲学意味隆重的《主角》等等。
演艺经历
2019年7月17日，凭借电视剧《佛西与沃登》获2019艾美奖限定剧/电视电影/剧情类特别集最佳导演提名。[2]
2020年5月1日，执导的电视剧《好莱坞》定档在Netflix上线。[3]
