纵情四海 剧照俄籍犹太人苏西( 克莉丝汀 蕾琪饰)，自小寄养在一个英国家庭里长大。长大后的苏西歌舞方面才华受到赏识，徵选她加入舞团赴巴黎巡演。在巡演过程中，她结识了来自莫斯科的舞伶萝拉(凯特白兰琪饰)、自私的男高音丹提(约翰特托罗饰)和英俊的吉普赛马车夫凯撒(强尼戴普饰)。眼见生活万事美好，讵料此时纳粹进军巴黎，苏西犹太人的背景面临严重威胁，她必须当机立断，即刻离开凯撒和她的朋友，前往美国寻觅生父，否则一切就太迟了……

故事的时代背景是1927年，纳粹思想在欧洲开始泛滥的前夜。可爱的犹太裔小姑娘飞莺儿（克劳蒂亚·兰德杜克）同歌唱家的父亲和奶奶生活在俄罗斯一个偏僻的村庄里。在时时可能遭到迫害的阴影之下，她的父亲决定出发到美国找一份工作，然后将全家人接过来。就在他刚刚离去之后，村子就遭到了洗劫，小女孩与同行的两个男孩打算前往美国寻找父亲，在登船的时候飞莺儿与他们失散了，糊里糊涂地上了开往英国的轮船，那时她才6岁。

一对没有孩子的夫妇领养了她，并将她改名为苏茜（克里斯蒂娜·里奇）。在学校里，一头褐色头发的苏茜因为不会说英语，被其他孩子称为吉普赛人。但人们发现了她秉承于其父的音乐天份，苏茜通过歌声学会了英语。

十年后亭亭玉立的苏茜被歌舞团录取，她怀揣着最终去美国的愿望前往巴黎，并同萝拉（凯特·布兰切特）——一位漂亮的俄罗斯裔舞蹈演员成为好朋友。通过苏茜父亲相片上的签名，萝拉知道了她的犹太人身份。苏茜一心想攒够钱到美国，希望有一天能够找到父亲，并摆脱纳粹的阴影。

在一次上流社会的聚会上，萝拉认识了意大利裔歌唱家但丁（约翰·特托罗），而苏茜却引起了年轻的吉普赛训马师凯撒（约翰尼·德普）的注意。野心勃勃的萝拉开始接近但丁，她和苏茜一起在但丁演唱的剧院里找到了新工作。很快萝拉与但丁出双入对，但苏茜对但丁的为人却很反感，她与凯撒相爱了。纳粹的铁骑一天天踏向巴黎，死亡的威胁也渐渐逼近苏茜。但丁知道了苏茜犹太人的血统，在遭到苏茜的斥责与鄙视后恼羞成怒，把她的身份告诉了纳粹。而此时萝拉也认清了但丁冷酷狰狞的嘴脸，她要苏茜跟她一起偷偷前往美国。苏茜必须作出选择，一边是她深爱的、但绝不抛下族人的凯撒，另一边是逃离阴影，寻找父亲、追求自由的新生活。

苏茜与凯撒依依惜别，与萝拉坐上了开往美国的渡轮。在海上她们乘坐的船遭到炮火袭击，萝拉遇难，死里逃生的苏茜终于踏上了美国的土地。此时他的父亲已经是事业成功的剧场老板，然而身患重病，他一直以为飞莺儿与奶奶早已在洗劫中命丧黄泉。面对失散多年的女儿，他还是马上叫出了飞莺儿的名字。
