剧照(5)影片首先给出了2000年安全部门拟定的一份“可疑分子”的 名单，上面有一个名叫詹姆斯·R·巴斯的人，此人当时正为本·拉登的兄弟萨勒姆工作，而到了2004年2月，这个名字却从最新公布的名单上消失了。摩尔查阅了更多的资料，发现小布什与巴斯曾经是亲密好友，小布什因此而涂改名单，有欲盖弥彰的嫌疑。“9·11”事件后，布什政府慌忙将十几名沙特人，包括本·拉登的家属驱赶出境，其动机也十分可疑。影片的镜头随即转向伊拉克战场：父亲抱着被炮火烧焦的孩子，平民被弹片感染的腿部腐烂见骨，美军军人则对俘虏肆意取笑……而在美国本土，参战者的家属等来的却是一纸阵亡通知。伊拉克战争伤害的不仅仅是当地人，更包括无数低收入的美国普通家庭。[5]

为了尽量完全而真实记录美军在伊拉克的生存状态，摩尔雇佣了大量的摄影师和记者，并竭尽所能的让全剧组的26名成员在伊拉克采访了大量的美国政府官员、美国军人以及伊拉克普通民众。被称为“刺头”的迈克尔·摩尔也是亲自上阵，他不但曾被情报局人员拦截在沙特驻华盛顿大使馆外，还在国会山上对国会议员的约翰·特纳说“嗯，大家可以发现，并没有多少国会议员把他们的孩子送往伊拉克，事实上，只有一个这么做了。大家只是认为你们这些人应该先把你们的孩子送去那里，您觉得怎么样？”看来他确实是勇者无惧。
影片在获奖之后的最大热点已经不再是美国政府对这部影片的反应，如今哪家公司来完成《华氏911》的发行才是世人最为关注的焦点，这关系到美国人是否能在本土看见这部影片。人们关心的已经不再是迪斯尼旗下的米拉麦克斯的对这部影片的发行风波的个中纠葛与孰是孰非，而是希望尽快有家公司能够完成这项工作以飨美国观众。
影片评价
这部纪录片取名为《华氏911》(Fahrenheit 9/11)，让人联想到雷·布莱德伯瑞的经典科幻小说《华氏451度》(曾被特吕弗搬上银幕)，那是一部有点像《一九八四》的小说，小说表现的是在未来的极权社会中，消防员的主要工作不再是灭火而是焚毁书籍，华氏451度是纸的燃点，这也是小说如此起名的原因。而《华氏911》同样采取以温度单位加上寓意深刻的911的方式取名，意为这是自由的燃点。但这也令雷·布莱德伯瑞感到些许不满，他认为如果迈克尔·摩尔是想向其致敬，应该标明以示大家，而不应该随便使用“他的标题”，因为这可能会使观众感到和他的那本小说有什么关系。

《华氏911》与美国总统大选
作为2004年现实政治气息最为浓厚的一部电影，《华氏911》所获得的关注，已经远远超过它获得嘎纳金棕榈大奖和成为影史上票房最高记录片这两点，在这样一个大选之年，人们更加关注的是，它的大规模上映，究竟对大选有着怎样的影响？
编导迈克尔摩尔本人无疑是希望它有影响的。他从不讳言制作该片的目标之一，就是要将小布什赶下台。但是，观众是否追随他的目标，就是另外一回事了。
从观众反映来看，《华氏911》的确有一定影响，但这种影响不是体现在会扭转选举局势上，而是体现在加深选举双方的分歧上。
该片于6月底上映，美国一个名为哈里斯(Harris Poll)的调查机构在7乐12日到16日之间做了一次网上调查，调查样本为2242位成年人，主要问题包括是否看过《华氏911》以及对它的观感如何，还有评价该电影是否对总统布什构成诽谤。结果显示，前往观看该片的观众中，支持民主党的占17%，而支持共和党的只占7%。在那些还没看过该片但表示出观看意愿的观众群中，党派之间的人数区别更大，支持民主党的占30%，高于支持共和党的10%。这一调查分布表明，选择去影院观看该片的观众中，有很多本来就是不喜欢布什总统政策以及共和党的，而支持布什和共和党的观众有很多则根本不会去看此片。
对影片的评价更能说明问题。在已经观看了此片的观众群中，89%的民主党支持者称赞此片拍得好，相对而言，而56%的共和党支持者持负面评价。同样的，有85%的民主党支持者认为该片对于布什的反映是真实公平的，而58%的共和党支持者则认为本片有失公允。另一份于8月份进行的全国调查，也显示了基本与上面数字基本一致的结果：选择去看《华氏911》的观众当中，支持民主党、支持民主党候选人克里(John Kerry)和自认为属于自由派(Liberal)的人占多数。从这些数据来看，尽管影片本身的倾向性非常明显，但它只是加深了那些本来就反对布什和共和党政策的人群的看法，并没有改变已有的党派支持格局。
不过，别忘了还有很多中间派或者说是独立派人士，他们的人数也不可小觑，并且根据以往选举的统计，这部分人的观点与看法，对于选举结果有着更为直接的影响。因为对于死忠的党派支持者来说，一部电影是很难改变他们的看法的。因此，《华氏911》影响了多少本来对选举哪一个候选人举棋不定的人士，才是判断该片究竟对11月份的总统选举有没有影响的关键。从调查数字来看，该片的上映对布什确实是不利的，因为在观看该片的人群中，中间派人数几乎比民主党支持者还多(18%)，而且他们中间70%的人都对该片持正面评价。这一结果也相对印证了迈克尔摩尔在一此采访中的观点，他自己宣称根据一个"某知名调查机构(摩尔没有列出该机构名称)"的调查结果，进电影院的观众中80%是很可能选克里的，但当电影结束出来时，几乎100%都会倒向克里一边。
摩尔的自我宣称显然有些夸大，他把占观众绝大多数的无党派人士都算作他这一边了，而且他也严重低估了民众对他本人一贯作风的了解程度。尽管一部分无党派人士会乖乖地俺摩尔设计好地目标去反对布什，但是也有相当一部分观众对摩尔"制作"影片的方式与手段很反感，特别是在摩尔本人也承认他是要尽一切手段赶走布什的情况下，比较理智的美国观众都能看出电影中主要逻辑的牵强性。此外，摩尔本人的名声也不比布什好到哪里去。他拍摄记录片"编辑"事实的做法，在美国向来都有很激励的讨论，很多人持否定态度。加上摩尔为人比较刻薄好斗，没少得罪媒体，所以即使媒体接触摩尔，也是非常小心翼翼的，几大媒体很少有明确表示热烈支持摩尔的。此外，美国人比较注重信用和程序公正，如果摩尔本人的信用值得怀疑，那他在电影中对布什的指控就很值得怀疑。事实上，保守派们已经展开反击，一部揭摩尔老底的记录片当月上映，可谓是布什支持者们"以牙还牙"的做法。
民主党方面，也不敢借摩尔这部电影来为克里造声势。恰恰相反，克里的整个竞选造势过程，都试图刻意与摩尔划清界限，以显示绝对公正，不给竞争对手以攻击的空子。这样一来，即使是《华氏911》客观上帮助的对象，也不敢反过来帮助电影和摩尔，进一步限制了电影的影响力。
综合以上几点，读者应当明白了，纵使《华氏911》对选民的看法有影响，其影响也是非常有限的，而且有不少反面因素的制衡，最后的选举结果不会因为该片的上映而改变。
