Alison出生于1971年7月23日Champaign.

Alison Krauss这个女歌手从走上音乐道路时就是乡村音乐界最耀眼也最被期待的明星，她一直跟蓝草风格的Union Station乐队合作到现在。5岁开始学习小提琴及古典音乐。在14岁那年，Alison Krauss跟Rounder唱片公司签约，并在两年后发行了个人的第一张专辑唱片，紧接着她人生的第一次辉煌就来到了，年仅18岁的Alison Krauss获得了流行音乐界的重要奖项－－葛莱美奖。而长期以来她在乡村音乐上的努力，当然也使得这个女歌手在音乐素质和演唱实力方面有着相当杰出的表现，所以在得到第一座葛莱美以后，Alison Krauss就成为了这个奖项上的常客，并获得了所有人的认同，这也是对她个人的一种实质的肯定。

16 岁时，Alison Krauss 与美国乡村音乐最重要的独立唱片公司Rounder 签约，发行的第一张个人专辑，立刻成为乐评家的最爱。18 岁首度获得葛莱美奖，之后又继续获得无数乡村音乐奖项，其中包括 11 项葛莱美奖，总总的荣耀应该都是因为她从小苦学古典小提琴、民谣小提琴及歌唱技巧。乐评家均认为 Alison Krauss and Union Station 从 80 年代末至 90 年代中，将草根蓝调音乐从地方性音乐带领成为全世界均能接受的乐风，在乐坛占有举足轻重的地位。
