 　　在英国，一旦用户购买拥有MCS认证的产品，政府将提供补贴。并且从2010年4月起，拥有MCS认证光伏产品的用户还可以将余下的电力卖给国家电网。英国以此方式来完成2020可再生能源承诺。 　　英国作为低碳经济发展的积极推动者之一，其40%的国家电力构成来自低碳领域，包括了风能，波浪能等可再生能源。 　　作为小型发电产品的生产厂商，为产品获取MCS认证证书是提高销售的必要条件。鉴于英国住房私有化的程度很高，并且上网电价补贴政策又对企业十分有利，这些都是对光伏产品出口企业投资回报的保证。而且英国作为新兴市场，预计英国2010年安装量可达100MW。 　　MCS认证是基于获得授权的NCB颁发的IEC/EN61215的TEST REPORT再进行工厂生产控制体系审核来完成的。 　　

 　　目前已经有标准可以进行认证的产品有以下6种 　　Solar Heating Collectors Solar PV Micro Wind Heat Pumps Biomass Heat-led Micro-CHP 根据EN IEC 61215 2005版对地面用晶体硅光伏组件进行设计鉴定和定型； 　　• 根据IEC 61730 2004版对光伏组件进行安全鉴定： 　　第一部分：结构要求 　　第二部分：测试要求 　　• 按照IEC 61646 2008版对地面用薄膜光伏组件进行设计鉴定和定型 　　MCS产品认证目前主要包含以下产品：太阳能光伏产品（光伏组件）、地源热泵、气源热泵、排风热泵、泳池热泵、太阳能光热产品（太阳能集热器、太阳能泳池供热器）、风力发电机、生物量、微型CHP、水轮机 　　注：逆变器或充电控制器，不需要单独的认证，但必须满足（如适用）G83要求。 　　

 　　目前英国的低碳建筑计划资助申请人必须具备两个条件： 　　一是所使用的产品必须具有MCS认证或Solar Keymark认证标志 　　二是具有MCS认可的安装资质。同时英国的可持续家园法令要求新建房屋必须符合低碳排放要求，而使用获得MCS认证的产品就表明已经达到了标准，获得MCS认证需要通过工厂审核和指定机构的产品检测要求。
