美版午夜凶铃2(5)　　故事发生在继上一部一系列恐怖事件的六个月之后。为了摆脱这段不寒而栗的回忆，瑞秋和她的儿子亚当逃离了西雅图，搬到俄勒冈州沿海的小镇艾斯托里亚，试图开始全新的生活。 　　

然而恐怖总是形影相随，小镇很快就发生了一起命案，而死者的表情令人不寒而栗。在案发现场警察发现了一盘没有题目的录影带。一切对于瑞秋而言是那么的熟悉，看来诅咒要再次复生，恐怖要再次蔓延。 　　

瑞秋找到了那盘录影带，并且毁掉了，以此希望瑟姆拉的诅咒不能蔓延。但是瑟姆拉将自己的目标直接选择了瑞秋的儿子亚当，她要借亚当的身体来真正的复活，因为她需要一个像瑞秋这样的好母亲。瑟姆拉很快就附了亚当的身体，经过一些列可怕地事情。亚当的潜意识在梦境中告诉瑞秋要把瑟姆拉带到水边。瑞秋照此做了，从亚当的身体里面赶走了瑟姆拉。而后在与瑟姆拉的较量中，把给予瑟姆拉自由的深井关闭。这样瑟姆拉就不会随意地害人了。经过这一系列的事情以后，瑞秋和亚当的感情变得更加深了。

·为了让瑟姆拉在井中的动作越发诡异，剧组请来了精通柔术的特技演员邦妮·摩根来担任替身。

·制片方最初曾希望由商业电视导演诺姆·穆罗来执导本片，但后者因意见分歧而放弃。

·理查德·凯利也曾为该片导演的人选。

·在拍摄狂欢节的场景时，当地人误以为是真正的狂欢节而一起加入，他们变成了影片中的临时演员。
