爱德芒德·古尔丁传记：好莱坞天才坏小子1914年服役。两年后参加影片《爱丽丝漫游奇境记》、《道林·格雷的画像》两部英国片的拍摄。20年代初移居美国，不久开始为一些电影公司编写剧本。1922年他创作的小说《愤怒》，于次年自任导演，拍成影片。1925年进入米高梅公司担任导演兼编剧，为该公司拍摄了不少优秀的影片，如《大饭店》、《爱》、《小寡妇》、《卿何薄命》、《长相思》、《剃刀边缘》等。并带出了一些优秀的电影名星，如蓓蒂·黛维丝、琼·芳登、多萝西·麦圭尔等。
