申请者2010年5月回国前在美国从事多年干细胞生物学研究, 着重探讨了肿瘤干细胞在肿瘤发生、形成上的机理,寻找肿瘤的特异性分子标志,就肿瘤干细胞的分子标记进行了原创性工作,发现和阐明了在肿瘤发生过程中原癌基因N-myc对干细胞的作用机理。并系统论证了多梳族转录因子在神经肿瘤干细胞的调控,为特异性阻断此通路进行优化治疗提供了可行性依据,为肿瘤的预后监控提供了新的重要检测指标。

回国后建立了家蚕干细胞生物学实验室,获得重庆市“巴渝学者”择优支持。以干细胞生物学作为家蚕基因组生物学国家重点实验室发展的重要支撑方向之一,着重研究家蚕各成体干细胞在变态发育的分子机制,开展家蚕组织、器官内干细胞的识别、维持及其多向分化调控研究。以家蚕开展人类疾病的模型的研制,实现从昆虫模型、到老鼠模型以及到人类疾病药效的转化研究。

近年在国内外重要期刊发表30篇以上,SCI文章20篇,影响因子超过100分,被SCI源文章广泛引用。主持和参加国内973课题与美国NIH基金、美国癌症研究协会重大科研项目多项。多次被相关国际学术会议选为执行主席和特邀报告人,共计获邀参加国际会议并做大会报告10次以上。并被多家杂志邀请为审稿人。在美国期间,先后主持和参与了NIH、美国癌症协会和俄亥俄州多项课题的研究。在Nature Cel. Bio.,J.Biol.Chem.,Am.J.Pathol.,Molcancer Ther.等国际著名杂志发表高水平学术论文10余篇。
