教师之恋

教师之恋-剧照^[1]克拉克·盖博曾是知名记者，现为大报主编。一日他接到某记者培训中心的客座教授邀请。学历不高全靠实践打拼而取得成功的盖博，对这种学院派的东西不屑一顾，所以马上发了谢绝函。可随即他却被老板强令非去不可。刚一到课堂，印象就有所改观，授课教师桃瑞丝·戴比他想象的要漂亮年轻的多。但麻烦却接踵而至，黛当众宣读了他那封语带嘲讽的谢绝函，激起了学生们的不满和抨击，害的他不敢表露身份（尽管黛居然不知自己所邀请的知名记者长什么样，有点不太真实）。之后的教学过程中，黛开始对这位大龄男生刮目相看，认为他已具备了成为优秀的专业记者的一切素质，与此同时，盖博也渐渐开始爱上他的美女老师……

教师之恋-剧照好莱坞处理关于男女主人公处于同业竞争关系的题材时，1、通常会选用爱情轻喜剧的形式，隐藏身份、制造各种误会等手法——如本片以及《街角的商店》。其优势在于，当故事使男女主人公之间发生矛盾时，它并不会破坏观众对当事人的好感。因为相对剧中角色而言，观众始终是全知的，他们知道主人公都是“好人”。他们之间的冲突仅仅是由于身份蒙蔽或信息不完整所造成的，最终是会圆满解决的。2、《一个明星的诞生》式的侧重于事业与爱情纠葛下的心理刻画。这种模式下，一般没有身份隐藏，也没有幸福结局。

盖博爱上了女老师后，很快发现有另个男人与其交往甚密。出于嫉妒，盖博跟踪到黛的约会地点，想了解情敌的端倪。当然，要佯装偶遇，然后寒暄、并桌、较量。较量的结果让盖博很狼狈，对手不仅年轻英俊，而且事业同样有成，且智商情商极高，甚至通晓若干外语。就在盖博失望消沉之际，误会消除，原来此人只是黛的事业合作伙伴。最后，他甚至成了盖博的密友，兼为追求黛提供建议的心理导师……虽有套路化之嫌，但你不得不承认角色定位清晰，叙事结构完整。而《艺术家》却不是这样。影院落泪场那场戏中，我们注意到女人旁边坐着一个年轻男人。这个年轻人随后陪同女人雨夜探望，结果不仅背叛之怨未解，又有嫉妒之火新燃。显然，这是导演为了进步加深矛盾而设计的。但问题是，我们始终不知道男人到底是谁，只是女人的普通朋友还是新欢？如是普通朋友，误会之后将如何化解？如是新欢，那女人对男人的情感流露又有不一样的解读……但你没有机会进一步了解，因为这个角色随后便销声匿迹了。与之前女人唐突的忘乎所以一样，他只是导演临时起意，为满足当前叙事要求而随便安插进来的一个龙套而已。

How could you give up a real newspaper job for teaching?

Well, that's a very good question, Mr. Gallagher. 

Maybe for the same reason that occasionally a musician wants to be a conductor, 

he wants to hear a hundred people play music the way he hears it.

Erica Stone:

Newspapers can't compete in reporting what happened any more, 

but they can and should tell the public why it happened.

James Gannon:

Morning. Hangover? 

Dr. Hugo Pine:

Calling what I have a 'hangover' is like referring to the Johnstown flood as a slight drizzle.

Dr. Hugo Pine:

To me, journalism is, ah, like a hangover. You can read about it for years, 

but until you've actually experienced it, you have no conception of what it's really like
